Getting over the fear of losing money is merely a matter of practice.
Prior to reading this post, here are some basic ideas and knowledge that you need to know before proceeding:
How the market works and why shares are sold.
Different types of orders and what they mean(limit, day etc)
Basic ideas of technical analysis(patterns, and basic indicators)
Basic Ideas of fundamental analysis
Shorting stocks
If you do not know ANY ONE of the things mentioned here - then you haven't learnt enough. Find another course online, or learn them through google.
After having the knowledge, i assume some of you are still too afraid to start. Having a rough plan of what you want out of ur trading journey(at least in the short run) reduces that fear.
Write your trading plan on a piece of paper and it should include the following:
The amount of money you are willing to invest
The time frame you wish to hold it for
The returns you wish to make(be as unrealistic as you want/can)
The industries you want to invest in(preferably something you are interested in) and which type of trading do you want to get into?(eg stocks, commodities, forex etc)
How much loss can you suffer from?
This of course varies from person to person which is exactly why you should articulate your own plan.
Once you have articulated your plan, keep researching for companies everyday and track them. (Pro tip : don't trust ANY site or ANY person suggesting a stock, because in reality no one even knows what is going to happen in the market)
Then, open up a fake trading app or a trading simulator and trade on it for a few weeks. Since these simulate the real market, but you use fake money, so you can essentially try out all the various strategies that you came up with.
Once you have done this, it is time to sign up to a broker.
Search up " Trading broker in " [Your country], and sign up for it. Prefereable, you should choose a broker with a low rate of commission.
Start safe - buy the companies/indexes that you are most confident in.
Hope you took some incentive today to start your trading journey.
